Social Sustainability Project (SSP)

This project includes a literature survey of key concepts and practices associated with the social dimension of neighborhood sustainability. These concepts are:  social capital, social cohesion and sense of community. In addition, survey instruments associated with the assessment of each concept, in neighborhoods and communities, will be identified. The outcomes of the project will include:  a research map of key articles, a collection of survey instruments, a White Paper that summarizes research findings and recommends a strategic response, and a neighborhood-based survey instrument that IISN will use to access the efficacy of its programs.
